August 15 to 25, 2008

This summer, for our 5th Annual Women’s Firesale, we will be organizing more of a “Camp” than a “Tour”. This event has proved year after year, to be the best way to place girls in August, and we think that by traveling less, and training more, we can actually place more players, and have players more prepared for their experience with a team when they arrive. Players are in Europe training and playing matches during the time that many teams are calling for specific players to fill their teams, and we will also have a handful of guest coaches, as well as many visiting coaches that are looking for players. We will travel (day trips) to a selection of the following teams/cities as well - Klagenfurt, Graz, or Vienna, Austria; Pula, Zagreb, or Rijeka, Croatia; Trieste, Venice, or Pordenone (and surroundings), Italy; Koper, Nova Gorica, Novo Mesto, Ptuj, Rogla/Zrece, Ljubljana, or Bled, Slovenia – with the goal of seeing and learning the differences in cultures, food, and volleyball styles and levels.

As usual, players can and will also be placed across Europe as teams call in needing players. The costs of these personal side trips are normally paid by the requesting team, but details of any trip or tryout should be discussed with the tour organizer prior to accepting a ticket to visit any team. Details will be explained on tour. It is common for players to get placed in countries like Denmark, Finland, Portugal, Spain, Holland, Germany, and France in August, even though we won’t visit those countries as a team.

Interested players need to arrive to the Hotel Arena in Maribor, Slovenia on August 15. The price of the tour will be $1200 for the 10 nights and there will be a discount available to returning clients or veterans from previous Exposure Tours.

Players should have a return ticket for August 25th or later in the case that they don’t find a team or decide that they don’t want to stay in Europe for the duration of a contract. Players will be responsible for transportation to the Hotel Arena in Maribor, Slovenia on August 15 and return transportation from Maribor, Slovenia on the 25th of August (or later).
