The Headstrong book and mindset training program was created by Brooke Rundle, a former collegiate and professional volleyball player who felt a strong call to empower women through athlete mindset training, sports counseling and team building.
As a player, Brooke had an illustrious volleyball career at UC Santa Barbara where she led the Gauchos to the Regional Finals of the Division 1 NCAA Tournament three times. She was Freshman of the Year and 1st Team All Conference in 1998 and went on to be voted All District and All Conference twice. In 2000, she was named an NCAA Division 1 All-American. After her collegiate career, she went on to play volleyball professionally in Slovenia and the Netherlands.
After retiring from playing professional volleyball in 2004, she began working with Bring It Promotions (BIP) volleyball agency hosting foreign volleyball tours with an emphasis on team building and philanthropy for dozens of top collegiate teams including: Creighton University, University of Northern Iowa, Princeton University, Missouri State, Gannon University, Emory University, Drake University, Cornell College and many more.
The opportunity to travel internationally with college volleyball teams at the Division I, II, III and NAIA levels, gave her the opportunity to peel back the curtain, step inside the huddle and closely observe player and team dynamics. It also opened the doors for her to interview top collegiate, professional and national team coaches around the world to gain wisdom, strategies and the real life volleyball stories which make up her book and training program.
Brooke is also the co-founder and director of a non-profit called the Casa Llanta Fund. The Casa Llanta Fund’s mission is to empower marginalized communities in Nicaragua, Costa Rica and Puerto Rico by providing access to sports, education, and employment. Since 2010 she has raised over $148,000 for the non-profit. She’s also the first volleyball Ambassador for the LGBTQI+ non-profit organization Athlete Ally. Brooke’s passion for social justice and gender equity is integrated into the founding pillars of the Headstrong training program.
Brooke is originally from California, but resides in Denver, Colorado with her wife Hannah.
