Co-f<\/span>ounding director Carrie Valladares, an attorney for Microsoft in Seattle, envisioned bringing\u00a0international education standards to San Juan del Sur in the form of a new type of international school. With program guidance from c<span class=\"s1\">o-f<\/span>ounding director Jamie Hunter, an American teacher and San Juan del Sur resident with a\u00a0masters degree in education and child development, and the support of a dedicated teaching staff, the program has blossomed into the vibrant bilingual language learning center that it is today.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"s1\">The program is a 2 year English language course taught in congruence with the ESL course at UPOLI (Universidad Politecnica de Nicaragua) with books sourced\u00a0from the Oxford University Press. \u00a0The school is accessible and has a locally\u00a0tailored fee structure to establish a sense of worth to the program but without prohibiting attendance\u00a0from any eager local student.<\/span><!--more--><\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_1010\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1010\" style=\"width: 750px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-1010 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/bringitusa.com\/live\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2018\/06\/DSCF3237_edit.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"750\" height=\"500\" srcset=\"https:\/\/bringitusa.com\/live\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2018\/06\/DSCF3237_edit.jpg 750w, https:\/\/bringitusa.com\/live\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2018\/06\/DSCF3237_edit-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 750px) 100vw, 750px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-1010\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">photo credit \/\/ Jessica Gildersleeve<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The course is a supplemental program, meaning that students attend their primary local school in the morning and Escuela Adelante&#8217;s as an after school\u00a0program. \u00a0There are currently over 40 students enrolled, aged from 6 to 11.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The passion of the teaching staff is mirrored by the enthusiasm of the young language learners.\u00a0 Program Director Jamie Hunter is deeply committed to establishing an inspirational and healthy bilingual learning\u00a0environment for students in San Juan del Sur.\u00a0 In her own words,<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">We are committed to honoring the unique needs of each student &#8211; whether that means preparing for university or a successful career as an entrepreneur in San Juan del Sur. \u00a0 Escuela Adelante\u00a0offers a path to success for each student through full time English school, intensive ESL training, or through planned programs such as mobile education.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Spend a little time in the classroom and it&#8217;s easy to see why the kids love it.\u00a0 The classroom walls are decorated with colorful learning aids to artistically articulate English grammar such as the differences between prepositions, adjectives, pronouns and conjunctions.\u00a0 Foreign exchange programs visit regularly to offer one-on-one reading and speaking opportunities to put their learning to the test in real life scenarios.
