Michael Seemann, entering his 19th season as head coach of Portland State volleyball in 2025, has transformed the program into a Big Sky Conference powerhouse. Under his leadership, the Vikings made their first NCAA Division I Tournament appearance in 2008 and earned a postseason victory in the 2021 NIVC. A two-time Big Sky Coach of the Year, Seemann has guided the team to five regular-season conference titles, two tournament championships, and consistent success against high-level non-conference opponents. His development of talent is evident in 50 All-Big Sky honorees and six Top Newcomer award winners, including four consecutive from 2021 to 2024. Beyond Portland State, Seemann has won two national club titles and two NWAACC championships, coaching elite players such as Olympian Kim Hill.
