International Beach Volleyball Tours

College of Charleston Beach Volleyball Tour in Puerto Rico

Since beach volleyball’s emergence as an NCAA sport 2015, it has become one of the fastest growing sports nationwide. The AVCA claims that beach volleyball, formally known as sand volleyball, “made the quickest transition from an emerging sport to a championship sport in NCAA history. It’s also the fastest growing NCAA sport over the last five years in Division I.” You no longer need to live on or near the beach in a mild climate to play year round beach volleyball. Colleges across the country are building sand courts on campus, adding beach programs and hosting summer camps.

However the growth in the sport of beach volleyball isn’t limited to only the United States. We’re finding the sport’s increased popularity echoed across continents. Countries such as Slovenia, Croatia and Italy have indoor and outdoor beach volleyball training facilities to offer year-round competition. Costa Rica and Puerto Rico also enjoy active year-round youth development programs and beach tournaments.  In 2016, Costa Rica sent their first ever beach volleyball team to the Olympics with the qualification of Karen Cope and Natalia Alfaro in the Rio de Janeiro Olympic Games.

USC Beach Volleyball Tour in Europe

At BIP, we’ve loved being a part of the beach volleyball action happening around the globe. In May of 2015, directly after the USC women’s team won the inaugural NCAA sand volleyball national championships, we hosted them on a competitive beach volleyball tour throughout Austria, Croatia and Italy. You can read the USC’s European travel blog here as they recap travel highlights and tournament play in the Mizuno Beach Volley Marathon® in Bibione.  The USC women’s beach volleyball team is returning to Europe in May, 2019.

College of Charleston Beach Volleyball Tour in Puerto Rico

The College of Charleston’s Beach Volleyball team toured Nicaragua in March of 2015 and Puerto Rico in March of 2019. Jason Kepner, the College of Charleston Head Women’s volleyball Coach, reflects upon his team’s experience  here, “This is our second trip with BIP and I couldn’t have been happier with our experience.  Brooke is outstanding with planning and organizing a great experience for our team.  She was awesome at meeting all our needs and providing an opportunity to travel to Puerto Rico that our girls will never forget. “

In 2019, UCLA beach volleyball will head to Europe for international competition this summer and West Valley College take a Costa Rica volleyball tour to compete in a beach tournament at the national team training center in San Jose. We looking forward to expanding the opportunities for beach volleyball tournaments and tours available to high school, club and college beach volleyball players. Contact us if you’re interested in taking your beach volleyball team overseas for a camp, tournament and tour.

Discovering Barcelona Through Volleyball

barcelonaWhen choosing a destination for volleyball travel, why compromise? As the second largest city in Spain, Barcelona not only provides an exciting source of endless adventure, but is also home to a rich history, enticingly good food, and a seemingly endless coastline to advance your beach volleyball skills.

In the year 1992, beach volleyball was thrust into the world’s spotlight thanks to the summer Olympic Games held in Barcelona. After a successful demonstration of the athleticism, grit, and excitement that that kept beach volleyball spectators on their toes throughout the tournament, men’s and women’s beach volleyball was named an official Olympic spot for the following summer games held in 1996. Fast forward to the present, where Kiraly, Walsh, and May have become household names, all thanks to the institution of beach volleyball propelled by Barcelona. College of Charleston Tours Nicaragua

In 2015 Bring It Promotions hosted the College of Charleston beach volleyball team in Nicaragua. Jason Kepner, College of Charleston head women’s volleyball coach, had this to say about his team’s experience:

“Traveling to Nicaragua with BIP over spring break was one of the greatest trips I have taken at C of C.  The trip was so much more than I was expecting.  It was organized, planned perfectly and had a great balance of volleyball, community service, and team building activities.  This is something the entire team including the coaches will remember for a lifetime.  I highly recommend BIP and the trip to Nicaragua.  We definitely plan on doing this tour again down the road.”

Check out the College of Charleston video below to hear coach and player interviews.

Nicaragua Loves Volleyball

USA-vball-coloring-booksMG_3519

Did you know that we’ve hosted over 30 college and club volleyball indoor and beach volleyball teams in Nicaragua?

That’s right, since 2007 teams from all over the US have traveled south of the border to play volleyball against the Nicaragua national and junior national team, while enjoying a week of team building and eco-adventure activities in one of the most beautiful natural landscapes on the planet.

We’ve hosted top collegiate Division 1 teams like Creighton and Missouri State, as well as under 17 club teams such as Absolute Volleyball Academy of Texas (AVA), Fusion and Premier Academy.

Many coaches and players will tell you that BIP’s Nicaragua tour is different than any team travel experience they’ve ever had before. It’s unforgettably unique and it’s special.  Why’s that?  It’s a matter of the heart.   [Read more…] about Nicaragua Loves Volleyball

Giving Back Off The Court

Volunteering hasn’t always been a part of the travel itinerary for BIP volleyball tours. It wasn’t until teams started visiting Nicaragua back in 2007 that we shifted our focus to community service and empowerment in the travel destinations that we visit.  It originally started with a habit of bringing down extra suitcases filled with school supplies […]
