Gyms & FIVB Development Center

Practice and matches will be held at the FIVB Development Center in Bangkok. This is one of only 4 Development Centers in Asia. These centers focus on the development of volleyball on every continent. They host clinics, courses for coaches from all over the world, international events, and other approved programs.

The Development Center is on a large campus along with a University, The National Football Stadium (soccer), and the indoor arena, which held the FIVB Grand Prix Finals in 2016. All of the facilities are within walking distance from the hotel that would host the team.

2 courts at the FIVB Development Center (600m from hotel, about 8 minutes walking)

2 courts at the University on complex (600m from hotel, about 8 minutes walking)

We have the ability to choose a time to practice in the AM, the PM, both, or neither. The manager of the FIVB Development Center is flexible and will ask us to present a schedule before we arrive. They have ample court space and seem to be very accommodating.

Points of Interest

Bangkok

The capital city of Thailand is a bustling modern city with historic influence around each corner. Once a small village, the town increased in importance mainly due to its location next to the Chao Phraya River. It is now known for it’s vibrant colors, many temples, and tasty food.

Ayutthaya

Ayutthaya is a city just north of Bangkok. It is formerly the capital of the Kingdom of Siam and was a great international trading port. The city was attacked and burned by the Burmese in the 18th century and only the ruins remain from the original city to make the UNESCO World Heritage sight that is The Ayutthaya Historical Park.
