Trailblazers USA Tour 2027
Our friends from Trailblazers Elite Academy in Nairobi, Kenya are coming to Southern California for a week of training, homestays and new friendships.
Kenya is coming to California!
After years of bringing American teams to East Africa, we're excited to flip the script. In April 2027, a delegation from Trailblazers Elite Academy in Nairobi will travel to Southern California for their first-ever U.S. training trip. The group includes 12 young athletes (6 boys and 6 girls, ages 12–15), two coaches and club founder Leshan Julius.
This trip isn't about winning tournaments. It's about training alongside local club teams, learning from U.S. coaches, staying with host families and building friendships between the Kenyan and American volleyball communities.
This is year one, and we hope it becomes an annual tradition.
The week
The group lands at LAX, meets the BIP team and settles in.
Daily training sessions mixed in with local LA and Orange County club teams, plus 2–3 nights with host families and some time to see Southern California.
Farewells and the flight home to Nairobi.
Leshan Naiswako Julius
Leshan is working hard to push his club, and Kenyan volleyball as a whole, to become a leader in Africa. He cares deeply about his athletes and about opening doors for the kids in his community, so more young players can follow in their footsteps.
His belief is simple: the earlier kids are introduced to volleyball, the better the chance to find and grow real talent. He'll also be joining us at the AVCA Convention in San Antonio this December.
Trailblazers, Nairobi
Founded in 2021, Trailblazers has grown from a newcomer into a competitive club in Kenya's top-tier men's volleyball league. Off the court, the Trailblazers Elite Foundation and its academy are building a pipeline of young players by bringing volleyball into Nairobi primary schools, where many kids never had the chance to play.
A friendship built on the court
Bring It Promotions has been running volleyball tours around the world since 1996, and East Africa has become one of our favorite places to go. This trip is the next step in a relationship that started on courts in Nairobi.
A5 Volleyball Club visited Trailblazers in Nairobi for friendly matches, clinics and a wonderful time on and off the court.
BIP led an AVCA coaching delegation through Tanzania and Kenya, including a youth clinic with Trailblazers at Pharo School in Nairobi.
Help us roll out the welcome mat
This trip runs on community. Here's how SoCal volleyball families and clubs can help.
Open your home to 2–3 athletes or a coach for 2–3 nights. We'll share screening and safeguarding details with interested families.
Clubs in LA and Orange County can invite the boys' or girls' group into a practice or joint session.
Help cover team meals, transportation or a day of sightseeing for the group.
