BIP/USA to Vietnam May 8 – 21, 2018

The 12^th Annual Binh Dien Volleyball Cup, hosted by the Vietnam Volleyball Federation, will be held in Tamy Ky, Vietnam from May 12-20, 2018. The tournament boasts professional and national teams from around Asia, with 8 total teams competing. All participants receive an authentic Vietnamese outfit which is warn at a closing party; there will be no lack of culture on this trip, but the level is high as some of the professional teams from China, Thailand, and the rest of the region are serious teams.

The BIP/USA Team will be coached by Joe Trinsey (USA Coach at World University Games ’17 and Karch’s assistant in the Rio Olympics); assistants TBA.

Tam Ky is just one hour from Hoi An (known as Vietnam’s coolest city) and 90 minutes the My Son Sanctuary (a UNESCO Hertitage site and the most prestigious in Vietnam) and we’ll be sure to see it all. The goal is to compete to win, but we’ll find a way to enjoy our surroundings while doing so.

Schedule:

• May 8: Depart USA for Vietnam

• May 9: Land in Ho Chi Minh City (SGN; formerly Saigon), Training and Dinner

• May 10: Sightseeing followed by afternoon flight to Da Nang Airport & Transfer to Hotel in Tam Ky

• May 11: Training and Preparation for the Tournament

• May 12-20: Tournament Dates – Sightseeing in Hoi An and the My Son Sanctuary based on competition schedule.

• May 21: Return Flight to USA, return home the same day
